New Delhi: India skipper Virat Kohli skipped nets once again on Friday, raising concerns over his participation in the final Test of the series in Dharamsala from Saturday. Known to be a fighter, it is unlikely that he will sit out unless the medical staff rule him absolutely unfit to play.
Kohli injured his shoulder on the opening day of the third Test and didn’t take the field before coming out to bat. Like Thursday, Kohli once again took throwdowns before overseeing the team’s preparations with chief coach Anil Kumble keeping a close eye on the boys. The BCCI has already called in Shreyas Iyer as cover for the skipper.
Kohli has made it clear that he will play only if he is a 100 per cent fit.
Kohli’s participation in the match is integral for India as they look to seal the series at the HPCA Stadium after the Australians managed to eke out a draw in Ranchi to keep the series level at 1-1.
Ajinkya Rahane led the team in his absence in the third Test and if anything, Rahane lacked the zeal that has seen Kohli and Kumble combine to take India to the top of the world rankings in Test cricket.
BCCI posted a video of Kohli taking throwdowns which read: “Just getting a feel of things here captain @imVkohli #TeamIndia #INDvAUS.”
Kohli was also involved in a long chat with his boys as the final Test holds utmost importance considering that most pundits had predicted that India will win the series 4-0 and the Australians under Steven Smith have done a great job to come into the last match with the series tied 1-1.
BCCI posted a photo of the same which read: “In focus - captain @imVkohli #TeamIndia #INDvAUS.”

The boys took it easy on the eve of the match and it was more of a fine tuning the skills in the eleventh hour, rather than going full throttle.
